SNORKELING

This activity starts with a beach walk to a mini peninsula of fossilized dune which has eroded to resemble a Lion! This place is a snorkeling paradise at low tide with an abundance of intertidal marine life.

After snorkeling we'll climb the 'lion's' head and lookout for the resident Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins surfing the waves.

BIRDING

For the avid birdwatcher, there is no other area in Africa like the Garden Route. The area offers a diverse range of habitats and is home to approximately 300 species of birds, making it an ideal destination for bird watching. Wilderness especially has healthy populations of sought after endemics such as the Cape Sugarbird, Orange Breasted Sunbird, Protea Seedeater, and Black Harrier.

Together with our knowledgeable local guide you'll rediscovered species, share exciting observations with the birding community and have a fun time exploring Wilderness.

CLIFF JUMPING

Enjoy a short nature hike to find a fantastic hidden fresh water quarry. Do a backflip off the highest cliff at 16m, or start off easy with the 6-8m jumps.

After the jumping and swimming we'll sit back, dry up in the sun, enjoy some refreshments and take in the magnificent views over the Outeniqua Mountains.

MOONLIGHT MEADER

New Moon and Full Moon are the times to experience the unique exposure to the intrigue of life in the intertidal zone. The Low Spring Tide exposes areas usually hidden from sight ...and our guide, Judy, reveals the mysteries of the amazing creatures living there.

Under torchlight the sandy shore and the tidal pools suddenly become alive as you discover the diversity of marine life and learn about how they all survive in this constantly changing environment.
